It was the debut film by Hrithik Roshan which was the most successful film of 2000. Hrithik played a double role in this film as Rohit and Raj. Rohit is an aspiring singer from a lower-middle-class family whereas Raj is a successful businessman and singer. Ameesha Patel appeared as Sonia Saxena who is the love interest of Rohit and later becomes the wife of Raj.
The film has melodious songs that are filled with emotions. In the 46th Filmfare Awards, Hrithik Roshan won the best debut-male award.

Once, Rohit sees an alien who was left alone from his spaceship. The two soon become friends. Alien gives Rohit extraordinary power so that Rohit can get rid of his mental disability.
Rohit helps the alien send its spaceship after facing many difficulties. “Haila Haila” is the most heard song in this film.
